To use the Bar Keeper’s Friend, simply use a soft cloth or sponge and water and make into a soupy paste. This can be used on the interior, as well as the exterior of your All-Clad (excluding the Cop-R-Chef). The Bar Keeper’s Friend can also be used on the exterior of the All-Clad Stainless collection, LTD collection, and MC2 collection. For cleaning of the Cop-R-Chef exterior, simply use a brass/copper cleaner. If your water has a high iron content, you may notice a rusty discoloration. Use Bar Keeper’s Friend to remove it.

Excellent sauce pan : All-Clad Stainless 2-Quart Saucepan
This is another of the workhorse pans in my kitchen. The AllClad Stainless 2qt pot is marvelous for cooking sauces that will bubble or foam; for sauces involving fruits that may need to boil. The height allows for ingredients to grow, and the small diameter means you are not waiting for items to heat up. The pot heats quickly and evenly.

Try it for cranberry sauce at the holidays, or any small sauces involving milk or cheese. Remember that the pan does not have a great surface area, so timing and delicacy in preparations is key. Leaving the pot unattended on a high heat is not a smart idea. Keeping the pot with a good warmth, slowly working up the heat of your sauce or fruit is one of the best ways to use it.

The only downside of this pot is that yes, it is difficult to pour from, and the small surface area of the pot (=smaller open area) means that ladles are often too unwieldy for it. So be prepared beforehand to know how you're going to get your sauce out of the pot without making much of a mess.

The use of the double boiler concept for cheese fondue is a miserable failure. I tried melting the cheeses on a regular stove and it took forever (30+ minutes???) and still it has not fully melted. I finally gave up. The reason for allclad to use a NON stove top safe ceramic inset is beyond me. Why don't they just use a stove top safe ceramic pot, just like what they do in Switzerland?

Well built, pot. My only gripe is that it is expensive for what you get. Since I got this on a great deal, I guess I got some value for my money.

All-Clad is great, but if you really want to get some value for your money, pick out the items that you want and wait for some sort of close-out or super deal. Otherwise, you are paying a lot for the name.
